ISDN 1004: Sketching Exhibition

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology Lee Shau Kee Library and Division of Integrated System & Design present

December 4 – 31, 2018 | LG1 Chevalier Learning Commons | Opening Hours

This exhibition features the work of students from Course ISDN 1004, which was produced over the past 13 weeks in fall 2018. The basic motivation behind this course was to introduce to students how our brains can get equipped with the skill of sketching – with the proper movement of arms, elbows, fingers and the rest of the body.

For students with no previous experience in drawing, this course tried to not just equip students with the skill itself, but also introduce to them different methods of drawing like hatching, shading, color control, etc. Although the course started with a focus on very simple 2D shape drawing like circles, it moved on to 3D shapes such as spheres and finally resulted in this exhibition of sketches.
