Planning for the Learning Commons

Last year, we reported that as part of space planning for the 3-3-4 migration, the Library proposed converting most of the current LG1 floor into a 24-hour-capable expanded Learning Commons environment, as part of a swapping arrangement involving the provision of space in the building expansion.

The proposal eventually received approval and funding, and plans are rapidly moving ahead on the Learning Commons (LC) implementation. Details of the plan can now be found on the new Learning Commons web page.

This blog now has a Learning Commons category for articles specific to the LC – so you can follow the planning process, and let us know what you think about the plans. LC articles will also be posted in the Building Projects category, for those who prefer keeping track of all building changes in the Library.
