Research Consultation

Subject librarians offer a consultation service to faculty, staff, and postgraduates who need customized and in-depth assistance in finding information for their research.

The consultation will be offered in the subject librarian's office or the Database Room on the Library ground floor. A typical session may last for an hour, during which the librarian will provide guidance on:

  • identifying key concepts of the research topic
  • constructing an effective search strategy
  • locating information using the Library Catalog and databases, catalogs of  libraries worldwide, as well as Internet search engines
  • accessing resources in other libraries through Document Supply Service
  • referring to other organizations with relevant resources
