Library Card Application

Alumni, individuals or institutions outside the HKUST community may apply for a library card for an annual fee. However, the Library cannot serve as a primary research facility for students from other educational institutions.

Such card holders may not use the Library's Document Supply Service and the Information Commons workstations. They may search the Library's subscribed databases, subject to licensing restrictions.

Individuals

Individuals outside the HKUST community may apply for a library card for an annual fee. Holders of this card may borrow up to ten items at one time, including books and media materials.

HK$100 will be charged for card replacement. Fines will be levied for overdue and lost materials. Check the Borrowing Service for details of borrowing privileges and rules.

Application form

Company/Organization

Organizations outside the HKUST community may apply for a library card for an annual fee. The organizational card holders may borrow up to twenty-five books at one time for four weeks, and may not renew their loans.

HK$100 will be charged for card replacement. The representative of the organization will be responsible for fines levied for overdue and lost materials. Check the Borrowing Service for details of borrowing privileges and rules.

Application form

Alumni

Graduates of HKUST may obtain a library card for an annual fee. Members of the HKUST Alumni Association or HKUST Alumni Credit Card holders will have the fees waived for the first year.

Holders of this card may borrow up to ten items at one time, including books and Media materials.

HK$50 will be charged for card replacement. Fines will be levied for overdue and lost materials. Check the Borrowing Service for details of borrowing privileges and rules.

Alumni who are interested in accessing Library electronic resources off-campus may join the Alumni E-Resources program.

Non-HKUST Staff on campus

Contract employees of organizations located on campus may purchase a library card at a cost for the first year, renewable each year at no additional charge. Holders of this card may borrow up to ten items at one time, including books and media materials.

HK$100 will be charged for replacement card. Fines will be levied for overdue and lost materials. Check the Borrowing Service for details of borrowing privileges and rules.
