Library Teaching Venues

The Library uses these teaching venues primarily for information literacy programs and various Library events. Other university units may reserve the venues for academic purposes.

Multi-function Room

The Multi-function Room on LG4 is equipped with:

  • 50-60 seats
  • 20-25 folding rolling tables
  • 3 ceiling-mounted data projectors
  • Instructor's station
  • Microphone system
  • PRS
  • Cable for connecting laptop to projector
  • Rolling white board
  • Outdoor terrace

HKUST staff may reserve the room using the Booking Request Form.

E-learning Classrooms

The two E-learning Classrooms at Learning Commons are designed for teaching information literacy, media literacy, and other workshops. The two rooms can be set as one combined classroom, or two separate venues:

  • 42 Windows PCs for students

Students may use the computers when the Classrooms are not reserved. HKUST staff may reserve the rooms using the Booking Request Form.

Tutorial Spaces

Tutorial Spaces A, B, and C are three partitioned spaces at Learning Commons; each space is equipped with a LCD monitor. The Tutorial Spaces can be reserved by Faculty, staff and PG Students via the Room Booking System:

The three spaces may be combined as a bigger venue for presentations and seminars. For reservation of the combined space, use the Booking Request Form.

Setting up the room

To set up the room for your session, please inform Library staff at Learning Commons Information Desk (LG1). You will borrow the corresponding key, and Library staff will help you to turn on the equipment.
