Funder Requirements on Data Sharing

Many funding agencies have guidelines and policies for research data management.

Examples:

Release of completion report, data archive possibilities and public access of publications resulting from research funded by the RGC

PI should assess data archive potential and opportunities for data sharing. Due additional weight will be given to an application where the applicants are willing to make research data available to others.

Data Availability Policies by Publishers and Journals

Many publishers now require article authors to provide well-documented data used in the research and make these data easily available to other researchers. The Open Access Directory maintains a Journal open-data policies list for journal titles that have data-sharing mandates.
