This "Sandbox" is a place to show some of the technology projects and experiments the Library is currently engaged in. Some of these experiments will eventually prove out and "graduate" to a more fully supported area. Others might wash out, or be mutually exclusive. Some projects which have already graduated are available for download from our Shared Software Pool.
Feel free to explore what you find here. It is all in BETA or even ALPHA condition and could disappear at any time. Please consider letting us know what you think about any of it - good or bad. Write to us at lbsystem@ust.hk.
Your comments will help us decide what should be improved, and what should be scraped away to the clean sand for trying something else.
This is an experimental project to enable the metadata in SmartCAT as RDF linked data, and to make the metadata openly available on the Web for use by semantic web software agents. The metadata makes use of the RDA (Resource Description and Access) element and value vocabularies as defined in the NSDL Registry.
A sample metadata served as RDF/XML: http://catalog.ust.hk/catalog/bib/b363632/rdf
