Espacenet: Patent search

Facsimile images of patent documents from 20 countries from 1920 onwards are available in PDF format. Search Worldwide patent applications for bibliographic data of patent publications from over 50 countries covering approximately the last 30 years. Users can also choose to search Japanese patents or the most recent 24 months of European patents and PCT patents. A service available at the European Patent Office.

Google Patent Search

Indexes about seven million issued patents and patent applications from the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) from 1790s through those issued a few months ago. However, international patents and US patents issued within the last few months are not covered.

ITU (International Telecommunication Union): Search

Indexes the standards produced by ITU, including recommendations from the ITU Radiocommunication Sector (ITU-R), the ITU Telecommunication Standardization Sector (ITU-T), and the Telecommunication Development Bureau (ITU-D). Free access is provided for ITU-T and ITU-D recommendations. There are around 3,100 ITU-T recommendations in force on topics from service definition to network architecture and security, from dial-up modems to Gbit/s optical transmission systems to next-generation networks (NGN) and IP-related issues.
