Library Assistant II (University Archives and Special Collections) (Job ID: 1232)

The appointee will assist in the Digitization Project which includes scanning of materials and post-processing of images; assist patrons in using the collections including retrieval of books, shelving and photocopying; provide counter service; perform general clerical duties such as preparing folder lists, filing, document delivery, etc.; and assist in any other tasks as assigned.

Appointment will be for a period of two years.

Requirements

Applicants should have 5 passes, including English (min. Grade C if Syllabus A or level 2 if results were obtained from 2007 onwards), Chinese and Mathematics in the HKCEE; or 5 subjects, including English Language, attaining level 2 or above (or equivalent) in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination. He/She should have proficiency in MS Office applications including Word, Excel, Access as well as Chinese word processing; and a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese. The successful candidate should be service-oriented, attentive to details, careful and cooperative.

Salary

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
