International Conference on Information and Learning Commons: Enhancing its Role in Academic Learning and Collaboration

 

About the Conference


ICposter-200pxInformation and Learning Commons at universities provide learning and collaborative spaces as well as information service and technical assistance to foster individual learning and group collaboration. This conference will share experiences about IC/LC, review partnerships between the library and other campus units, and examine their evolving roles and impact on academic learning and intellectual inquiry. It will also explore and identify best operational approaches and assessment practices to enhance the role of information and learning commons in advancing learning and collaboration on campus.

Registration

The registration fee is HK$650 (US$85) on or before 1 October 2007 and HK$780 (US$100) after 1 October. A welcoming reception and 2 lunches are included. Since seats are limited, registration will be accepted on a first-come first-served basis. No on-site registration will be available.

You may register by filling out the conference registration form(closed) and providing credit card information or by sending a completed registration form (with a check payable to “HKUST”).

Registration will be confirmed upon receipt of payment.

Accommodation

The following hotels will offer special room rates to conference participants. They are conveniently located in Tsimshatsui, the heart of Kowloon, and have public transportation easily to other parts of Hong Kong (see Tsimshatsui map). Buses will be provided to conference attendees between conference hotels and the HKUST campus.

Please make reservation directly with the hotels by faxing a completed hotel room reservation form to your chosen hotel. It is recommended to complete and return the reservation forms as soon as possible since confirmation is subject to room availability.
