The Alumni Library Card does not only let you borrow library books and media items, it is also your pass to the Learning Commons during the Card Access Period!
The Learning Commons opens 24 hours, 7 days a week during term time. When it stays open while the Library closes (i.e., the Card Access Period), users need a valid card to enter the facility. Alumni Library Card holders can swipe the cards at the barcode scanner at the left of the entrance gate to enter. The Library is planning to refurbish part of 1/F study space and LG1 area at Media Resources. We will take reference from the popular use of the Learning Commons, to make Library learning space more friendly and supportive to students’ needs. The 4 AV Editing Suites in Creative Media Zone, Learning Commons, are closed for maintenance work throughout this Winter Break. Tentatively it will open for booking again after February 4.
As exam period is drawing to a close, Thursday night (Dec 19) will be the last night that LC opens overnight. On Friday, Library and LC will close at midnight.
The Learning Commons will remain open 24 hours a day on Chung Yeung Day (Sun) and the public holiday (Monday). Remember to use your HKUST card to enter when the Library is closed.
The Learning Commons keep opening 24 hours during the National Day Holiday.
The Hong Kong Observatory announced that the Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal Number 8 is expected to be issued at or before 7 p.m. today (22 Sep 2013). Library and the Learning Commons will close at 6pm.
Starting Week 2, you will find tutorials of various programs offered at the Learning Commons. Math Support Center will be held in Tutorial Spaces and Classroom A; CSE Language Commons is being conducted in Tutorial Spaces.
