HALL OF FAME

Creator of “Old Master Q” comics: Alfonso Wong (1925 – 2017)

Alfonso Wong (王家禧) was a popular cartoonist who created Old Master Q (老夫子), one of the longest-running comic strips in Hong Kong. Wong started the series in the 1960’s under the pen name of Wong Chak (王澤), which in fact was the Chinese name of his eldest son Joseph. When Wong retired in the 1990’s, Joseph took over the family business and began drawing the series. On 1 January 2017, Wong passed away at a ripe old age of 93 in the United States. Old Master Q lives on among all generations of Hong Kong fans.
